In 1984, a family throws a birthday party for twins Cory and Jessie. 30 years later, what’s left of the family reunites for the father’s funeral, at two isolated houses in the New Forest, England, historically a hotbed of witchcraft. There, horrific truths are slowly uncovered about the family’s occult pact with an ancient evil that has secretly been at the core of their wealth and power, as the remaining siblings uncover the true bloody darkness behind their inheritance.
Winner of BEST FEATURE at Ice CineFest, BEST THRILLER at Indo-French Film Festival as well as an audience award at Gasparilla International Film Festival, CHILDREN OF THE PINES, is the Directorial feature debut from Director and Screenwriter Joshua Morgan. The film also features a standout Original Score from Sune Rose Wagner (The Raveonettes) who also composed the score for the 2015 Oscar nominated movie A WAR.
Over her winter break, Riley, a college junior, is persuaded by her estranged parents, Kathy and John, to visit. Unbeknownst to her, they’ve developed an unsettling friendship with her high school ex, Gordon, while also seeking supernatural healing for their family’s deep-rooted issues
